What is the white plague frank herbert?

The term "white plague" is not commonly associated with Frank Herbert or his works. However, there is a reference to a plague in Herbert's novel "Dune", which is referred to as the "plague planet" due to its deadly airborne disease that kills anyone who breathes in its spores. This disease is used as a weapon by the villainous House Harkonnen to devastate the population of their rival House Atreides.

It is possible that the term "white plague" may be referring to tuberculosis, which was once commonly known as "consumption" or the "white plague" due to its symptoms of wasting away and coughing up blood. There is no known connection between Herbert's work and tuberculosis, however.
